New Format for Catechism Classes
Welcome back to catechism classes for this year and our new monthly format. Classes will be the 3rd Sunday of each month, except for December and March. Each month classes will alternate between the two churches, starting in Hunter River for the September class. Please make sure to grab a copy of the schedule of dates. If we have to cancel classes due to inclement weather during the winter months, we will plan to have classes the following week.
Just to keep everyone informed, we will be studying from the Faith and Life series of books. And these are the dates for the monthly classes to record on your home calender:
- September 16th @ St. Mary's
- October 21st @ St. Mary's
- November 18th @ St. Anne's
- December 9th @ St. Anne's
- January 20th @ St. Mary's
- February 17th @ St. Anne's
- March 9th @ St. Mary's
- April 20th @ St. Anne's

Have you ever considered being a substitute catechism teacher? We need you! Please speak to Charlene VanLeeuwen or Monica Simpson or any other teacher to get onto our list.
Extra, Extra Learn All About It!
Ever wonder where you can go to find the answer to some of those tough questions that your kids have about church or catechism class? We have a small but growing number of resource books available in the book rack at the back of the church. Check out one of our latest additions, "did Adam and Eve Have Bellybuttons?" don't be shy; take one home for a closer look. They are there for all of us to use.Important Notes
- Please check the list of students registered for Catechism classes at the back of the church. If your child is not registered, please add his or her name to the list. This way we can order a student activity book for them and be sure to get your family on the Stormy Sunday Phone List.
- We need to set-up a telephone list in case we have a stormy sunday morning during the winter months. Can you help make a few calls? Add your name to the sign-up sheet.
- Take home a copy of the Catechism Class Schedule.
- We'd like to offer the children a snack during break time at 10:30am. Families are asked to provide a snack for the students and teachers by signing up for one Sunday during the year.
- Please support our catechism teachers by arriving on time for a 9:40am start and 12:00 noon wrap-up.
- Our order of student activity books is incomplete. Hopefully the outstanding books will be here before our October classes. Patience is a virtue.
- Consider volunteering some of your time to help with one of the teaching or Advent/Christmas season ministries with our young people.
- Feel free to contact Charlene Vanleeuwen or Monica Simpson if you have any questions or can help out in any way. Our new once a month Sunday morning format will take some getting used to and extra commitment from everyone to keep our parish catechism programs going and growing.
