Justin MacDondald was born on November 11,1923 in Grand River and was baptized in the Church of St. Patrick's. He attended the primary and secondary schools at Richmond and Miscouche,then on to St. Dunstan's College and St. Augustine's Seminary in Toronto. He was ordained in Charlottetown By Bishop James Boyle on May 31,1952. Father MacDonald held pastoral charges in Alberton, Iona, Georgetown, Seven Mile Bay, Borden, Bloomfield, O'Leary, and Rollo Bay. In 1985 Justin was appointed to St. Augustine's/St. Mary's of the People. A little over a year later, Father Justin was stricken with an inoperable brain tumor. He lingered on at the Queen Elizabeth and Tyne Valley Hospitals until passing away on March 31,1987.
